There are many people, who are actually big fans of the Brittany dog, who come together to form a group of 500 loyal Brittany, as breeders, owners and competitors, and establish the best possible shelters for these dogs. Brittany Dogs are given up for various reasons, such as a divorce, a death in the family, someone allergic to it, or a grassroots movement to a place where dogs are strictly prohibited.

These dogs are kept in foster homes for some time before assessing the exact reason for their surrender and their eventual acceptance at a rescue shelter.

One of the main reasons a Brittany dog is discarded may be that the owner bought it when it was a puppy, but was not really equipped to handle the dog that grew into an adult. When left alone, uncared for, and alone, the Brittany knows perfect ways to keep him busy and can adapt to different activities that may not be desirable to his owner.

Stray dogs from Brittany often come with no antecedents. And it really helps to free them from a random shelter into rescuers’ territory because they don’t feel very comfortable in a shelter, thanks to their inconsistent upbringing.

All Brittany dogs that are rescued are first taken to a vet for examination. They are then tested for heartworms, spayed or neutered, and given the required vaccinations as well.

Fortunately for most people, Brittany dogs are adaptable by nature and can adapt to multiple scenarios with persistent training and therefore respond well to adoption by volunteers at their rescue shelters.
