There are some enemies of the female orgasm that block the ability to enjoy sex. Sexuality is not an exact science, but knowing our Achilles heel helps us have a better sex life.

We know that reaching an orgasm is not always easy, especially for women. This persistent lack of climax after an adequate arousal phase can be diagnosed, treated and often resolved; but if not acted on correctly, this sexual dysfunction, known as anorgasmia, can last a lifetime.

Here are 8 enemies of the female orgasm:

1. Cliteridectomy (Female Genital Mutilation).

This word is used to describe female genital mutilation. It is a practice that is carried out in some Arab countries to all women in order to nullify their ability to have an orgasm.

It is performed in 28 African nations, Yemen and Indonesia as well. It is an increasingly frequent practice in Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA; mainly among immigrants from those countries.

Although these women may regain their ability to climax, the psychological effects and denial of pleasure found in some cultures is the cause of lifelong anorgasmia.

2. Society and Religion.

Education, religious beliefs and cultural and social contexts shape the female attitude towards sexuality.

In many countries around the world, female sexual education condemns masturbation and demonizes knowledge of the body.

Women are not used to touching or exploring their bodies; they masturbate much less than men. Therefore, they are less aware of what turns them on when touching. As a consequence, they struggle to guide their partner about the things that they like and can bring them to orgasm.

Poor sexual education, shame, guilt, sin, poor communication with a partner, a poor family environment, and negative feelings about one’s own body can block orgasm.

The enemies of the female orgasm do not allow women to have masturbation.

3. Psychology and Biology.

They are responsible for around 95% of female anorgasmia.

“The most powerful enemy of the female orgasm is her own mind”

The fear of being abandoned, of reinforcing self-sufficiency, the feeling of guilt for the deterioration of the relationship with her partner, and many other causes, can directly interfere with a woman’s ability to experience an orgasm.

It is estimated that only 5% of women who suffer from anorgasmia are due to biological causes.

Some biological reasons may be due to circulatory disorders in the pelvic area and some conditions that affect the nerves in the area, such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord tumors or trauma, and diabetic neuropathy.

Gynecological factors that can lead to orgasmic dysfunction may include anatomical abnormalities of the vagina, uterus, and/or pelvis, and severe recurrent vaginitis, among others.

4. Menopause (aging)

Menopause brings important hormonal changes; among them the decrease in lubrication during sexual intercourse.

Although this condition is not directly related to orgasm, it is a reality that a lack of lubrication affects sexual behavior, and therefore makes it difficult to reach orgasm.

To the above, it is important to add that there is a false belief that sexuality is not for the elderly, or that it cannot be practiced if there are no reproductive possibilities. The truth is that any woman who notices that her lubrication decreases can use a substitute, such as a gel, and she will enjoy sex in her true dimension.

A central theme here is communication. Talking to your partner makes this important part of your life easier and significantly reduces negative consequences.

5. Drug’s use.

Depression and its treatment with drugs decrease libido and, consequently, the process that leads to orgasm.

Some contraceptives suppress sexual desire, especially those made to be inserted under the skin.

Hypertension treatment also affects.

Some hormonal medical treatments can make the response to sexual stimulation disappear almost completely.

Mental conditions that require medical treatment, such as stress, are enemies of sexuality and orgasm.

6. Unclear identity.

Sexuality is an important part of our identity. If our identity isn’t right, then our sexuality isn’t right either.

7. drugs

Alcohol is the drug with the most negative influence on sexuality. Its effects on the central nervous system (CNS) and the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which is the center of sexual arousal, are responsible for many sexual disorders, such as erectile dysfunction in men and orgasmic problems in women.

Cocaine produces euphoric effects and a feeling of energy and sexual desire, but its continued use makes it difficult to have an adequate sexual response.

Marijuana, heroin, amphetamines, crack, morphine, LSD, methadone, and a few others cause serious sexual dysfunction, including anorgasmia.

8. lack of attractiveness

Especially for women, the way they look plays a big role when having sex.

They do care about appearance, their own and that of their partners.

Studies conclude that women who have sex with attractive partners achieve greater sexual pleasure than those who have sex with less attractive partners. They have more orgasms, regardless of frequency or age.

Let’s celebrate sexuality!
