Ewing goes on to say that the Mini E rides even smoother than an automatic transmission. There are no doubts and the properties of the electric motor are single gear, similar to the fifth in an automatic or manual transmission. The engine stays connected to the driveshaft so the car doesn’t wobble or sway.
One thing that’s considerably convenient is the way the Mini E decelerates without using the brake. As the electric motor decouples, the car will noticeably slow down. If you have ever driven an electric golf cart, then you can easily relate to this feature. The Mini E has the same finely crafted interior as the gas-powered Mini, but without the harsh engine noise or smell.
