There’s a reason 97% of people who get into network marketing fail, and they fail big time. I’m not talking about them starting out, making some money, then something happens and they go out after a few years and try something else, having made some money in the process.

No, I’m talking about the fact that the vast majority of people in the network marketing business never make a dime the entire time they’re on an autoship with your company. No. Zipper. Any.

And it has nothing to do with having meetings, handing out CDs, talking to the warm market, cold calling or anything else. It has to do with a major factor that is overlooked by so many people and is so important in determining your success in this business, and I am as guilty as anyone for overlooking it.

I’m talking about mindset. Specifically, I’m talking about having the mentality to win.

See, without truly believing that you can and should be successful in your network marketing business, you will not be. At least not for long. You may have a brief flash of greatness, but nothing that lasts.

You can recruit some people and sell some product, but without the right winning mindset, you’re bound to join the ranks of the losers.

But, if you can get in the right mindset, amazing things can happen. I’m going to share with you a short story about the mindset, determination and sheer arrogance that allowed some people to achieve something they never should have been able to do.

As I write this, Super Bowl XLV has just been played in the last 48 hours. Two iconic football teams, the Packers and the Steelers, met in an epic battle. But before the coin was tossed, before the National Anthem was sung, the game was over.

The outcome had already been decided, and it had been decided by Green Bay’s head coach.

Here’s what happened on Saturday night: Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy had all of his players put on their championship rings on Saturday night.

Now, I’m going to pause for a moment and let you go back and read that last statement one more time and let it fully sink in. She had them adjust their rings on Saturday night, 24 hours before they played the game.

Call it what you want, arrogance, bravado, ignorance, complete nonsense, you name it. That one action put it in the minds of every player on that Packer team that this game and the championship was already theirs and all they had to do was go out and take it.

When was the last time you did something like this in your network marketing business? When was the last time you did something completely arrogant to convince yourself that you are going to be successful in your business?

Have you taken a test drive in your dream car? Did you go try on that suit that you know you can’t buy right now but you know will be in your closet?

I challenge you to get in the right mindset before taking another step in your network marketing business. Before you make another call, deliver another CD, or post one more blog post, be clear-headed.

You are more than worthy to have what you want in life. You deserve every dream and wish you’ve ever had. You are worth it, and you will have it. Get that into your head before you walk out the door this morning.

And if you can’t figure that out right now, put it in your head every day until you do. Don’t let your mindset cost you all your hopes and dreams.

Get ready for your championship ring today.
